SWAMP BIRD WALKS
Join us for extended morning hours on the first Saturday
of every month to check out the feathered friends that call Bluebonnet Swamp home. Led by a member of the Baton Rouge Audubon Society, visitors can enjoy a morning hike through the trails while identifying various bird species. Bird- watching techniques and identification tips are also discussed. Beginners are welcome. Field guides and binoculars are optional but recommended. Want a more hands-on experience with birds? ZOO + ME MORNINGS
This program is designed for children accompanied by a parent or guardian and will incorporate many exciting activities including animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together.

FIRST SATURDAYS AT FRENCHTOWN
Start your month off on the right foot by spending a little time in nature at Frenchtown Road Conservation Area. These activities will focus on connecting both nature lovers and nature novices alike with the inner workings of the largest conservation area in the BREC Conservation system. Just like the site, activities and topics will change monthly. For November’s session, please sign up for the Revive Your Mind Hike. Preregistration is required and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

As darkness falls, the spookiness rises. Come visit, if you dare, as HRPO’s annual family-friendly tribute to the bizarre and freakish takes place. We’ll delve into the eerie side of astronomy, physics and aeronautics. Be warned, we want to make you think spook-tacular!

GEAUX FISH CATFISH RODEO
Grab your fishing pole and head out with the family to GEAUX Fish! Our Geaux Fish Rodeos are a great opportunity to introduce new anglers to the sport of fishing or for the old veteran to test their skills. We will be stocking the pond with adult channel catfish to ensure you have plenty to catch and prizes galore. Don’t miss this chance to bring home channel catfish for dinner and spend the day outside with the family. This event is weather dependent. Please register early to guarantee a spot!
