SWAMP FLASHLIGHT NIGHT
We welcome you to enjoy the Swamp at night by visiting us during our Swamp Flashlight Night! Staff will be facilitating live animal encounters throughout the event. Enjoy a leisurely night hike with your family and friends. The swamp trails can be really dark at night so don’t forget to bring a flashlight. If you don’t have one, check out our gift shop for some options. Close-toed shoes and insect repellent are recommended. Please note that admission to the trails ends at 8:15 p.m.

PERSEID METEOR SHOWER
Every summer the Earth plows through a trail of cometary debris. HRPO hosts a viewing session during the nighttime period with the best chance of high meteor rates. Program may shift by one day.

DOG DAY AT THE SWAMP
With our Dog Days, BSNC drops its “No Pets” policy and opens its doors and trails to pets 4 days out of the year! All pets are welcome, but they must be on a leash and have their vaccinations current.

BREW AT THE ZOO
Join us at our 7th annual Brew at the Zoo! As summer temperatures wanes and the leaves begin to change colors, guests are welcome to come to the Zoo for an evening of food, beer, music, and more. Come and sample dozens of craft beers and munch on many of our areas pub favorites. This event sells-out every year!

DUCK DUCK GOOSE DAY
Fly over to Bluebonnet Swamp for some end-of-summer family fun. Explore the cultural, historical and artistic value of waterfowl carvings while viewing vintage and contemporary decoys, wood carvings, boats and paddles displayed by carvers and collectors from throughout the Deep South and beyond!
