POP-UP ART
Join us to use your creative side to make a work of art. HIGHLAND ROAD COMMUNITY PARK

IMAGINATION ART
Participants in the community will create arts and crafts projects after receiving inspiration from reading and/or hearing an illustrated story from a book, movie, poster or other medium.

Teen Art Programs
HARLEM NIGHTS
Celebrate the hip culture of NYC’s historical Harlem. Participants will express freely through the art of graffiti while listening to cool jazz and discussing Harlem fun facts. NYC style pizza and cream soda will be served!

CREATIVE CHOICES
BREC Art and BREC’s Independence Park Theatre have combined creative forces to bring teens a fun and DIFFERENT way to explore their creativity. Participants will be introduced to a variety of inspired methods that highlight both visual and performing arts. The emphasis will be on artistic options and how they are expressed through individual choice.

Adult Art Programs
ART UNWINED
Tired of the same ol’ paint and drink?! If so, then check out BREC’s adult- only, fun and creative grown-up time outs. Each of these classes are designed to encourage and inspire while enjoying beverages and nibbles. All art supplies, nibbles and wine included. Great for friend get-togethers, bridal parties, corporate team building or just making new friends! Private ART UnWINEd bookings are also available. Must be 21 to join the fun.
Flash Back! – Remember shaking those Polaroids? These watercolor Polaroid recreations need no shaking! Students will paint an image resembling the 1970’s trend of the instant photograph. The cool, muted colors and still work is very reminiscent of the faded photos most of us remember! Wine, fruit and finger sandwiches will be served. Class taught by local artist, Jeanna Esser.
MILTON J. WOMACK PARK
March 26 / 6:30-8 p.m.
Bird Nerds – Calling all bird nerds! Welcome spring by joining us for this fun and educational bird painting class. Participants will be led through the process of creating a beautiful watercolor painting that will make them want to sing like the birds they love! Beginners encouraged, seasoned painters welcome. Mimosas and bagels will be served. Class taught by local artist, Marita Gentry.

Saturday Morning Studio is GOING GREEN! These environmentally mindful classes are the perfect combination of art and FUN! Join us each month for tips, treats, and creative expression through green projects designed to enhance art skills while learning the importance of sustainability – all guised under a party atmosphere!

March 13: No Paintbrushes Allowed!
Participants will paint beautiful winter birch trees using only bits of cardboard.
April 10: Toute Naturelle
Participants will create a canvas piece using brushes and paints made from all-natural materials.
