TRAIL TIME FOR TODDLERS
Trail Time for Toddlers is a unique opportunity for children, ages 2-5, and their parents/guardians to make new friends while learning about nature through trail walks and themed indoor and outdoor activities. Come enjoy the sights and sounds of the swamp, arts and crafts, storytelling, animal encounters, and healthy snacks. Themes change from week to week, and none are repeated within a calendar year. Participants sign up for a month at a time (4 weekly classes) and can choose to attend the Wednesday or Thursday session. Special weekend sessions may be scheduled to accommodate working parents, contact staff for more information. Registration for each month begins on the 1st of the month prior.

Ages: 2-5 (with accompanying adult)
$40 per month (4 classes) for East Baton Rouge Parish residents – May is $20 (2 sessions)
$48 per month (4 classes) for out-of-parish residents – May is $24 (2 sessions)

EARLY BIRD EXTENDED HOURS
Join us for extended morning hours on the first Saturday
of every month to check out the feathered friends that call Bluebonnet Swamp home. Due to current protocols, a guide is not provided for this program, but you are welcome to come enjoy the trails on your own before our normal operating hours begin.

TRAIL TIME TRANSLATED
Trail Time Translated incorporates all the fun of our Trail Time for Toddlers class along with a translator to help all our visitors enjoy this program. We offer classes in Mandarin, Spanish and American Sign Language – one for each language in both the spring and the fall. Registration for each program begins on the 1st of the month prior. April’s class will be in Spanish and May’s class will be in American Sign Language (ASL).

TWILIGHT TOURS
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to visit this summer for Twilight Tours every Tuesday and Thursday evening this June and July. Take a twilight ride through the Zoo on one of the Zoo’s new giraffe and zebra inspired shuttles in the cool of the evening. Enjoy a narrated ride through the Zoo, an animal encounter at the Wildlife Safari Theatre and an evening snack.

For over twenty years this program has given patrons histories and possible futures. Skygazing tips, physics phenomena, space programs and famous events are covered. (Replaced by Remote Discussions at 6:30 p.m. until further notice.)

“Cadets” are brought into a wonderful world in which
they explore gravity, simple machines, stars, planets, meteors, the Earth and the Moon, asteroids and comets, the electromagnetic spectrum and the American space program!

STEM EXPANSION
This program offers advanced demonstrations, topic extensions and all-new games and activities to an older crowd. Certificates will be earned, and a section of archived experiments, some not seen in over fifteen years (and some never performed on site), take place. Engineering, early NASA missions and astrobiology are some of the programmed topics.
