RUGBY WINTER CLINIC
Presented by Baton Rouge Youth Rugby
Here is the chance to play America’s fastest growing sport. Rookie Rugby is the flag version of rugby that is safe, non- contact, and easy to learn. The game is like flag football and has the free-flowing play of soccer. The rules are simple and minimal equipment is required. All types of rugby are free flowing and feature continuous play. Small sides of players work as a team to move the ball across their opponent’s
goal line to score a try. These features place an emphasis on skill building, fitness through gameplay and developmentally appropriate rules. Rugby has long held a set of core values— Integrity, Passion, Solidarity, Discipline, Respect. Rookie Rugby continues these values and adds the value of friendship to
its core principles. All you need to play is a pair of cleats or athletic shoes.
